Graduated from The Ohio State University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and Criminology. Attended law school at Thomas M. Cooley in Lansing, Michigan and received my JD in 2005. Licensed to practice law in Michigan in February 2005, Ohio in November 2005, and Texas in February 2007.

I practiced with the Michigan Department of Attorney General’s Office from 2005 through 2007 in the Health Care Fraud Unit and Criminal Unit handling non-fatal shootings out of Southwest Detroit.

I then moved to Texas and was with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office from August 2007 – December 2018. I started as a misdemeanor prosecutor handling mainly DWI cases. I was promoted in July of 2009 and assigned to the White Collar Crime Unit from July 2009 - Oct 2014. In 2015, I was promoted to the Chief of the DWI Task Force/Vehicular Crimes Task Force. In this unit I was responsible for the supervision of 4 lawyers and 8 support staff members. This unit handled all Intoxication Manslaughter, Intoxication Assault, Felony DWIs, and FRSA resulting in Death.

In January 2019, I went to the Comal County District Attorney’s Office as a felony prosecutor handling all felony offenses. In late 2019, I was promoted to Chief Civil Prosecutor, where I supervise the CPS unit, Juvenile unit, Commissioner’s Court, Asset Forfeitures, Bond Forfeitures, Mental Health Court, Civil Commitments, Competency and Sanity for misdemeanors and felonies, and in-house training for the office. In addition, as the Chief Civil Prosecutor, I handle all Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault cases filed with our office.

I currently am a member of the TDCAA training committee and I train across the state on DWI issues with Clay Abbott and TX DOT. I write the DWI Case Law Update that is  published on the TDCAA website DWI Resources. I continue to assist with training of our local law enforcement officers and assist with the DRE program.
