Notice of Temporary Building Closure and Virtual Operations

The Court of Criminal Appeals’ physical office will be temporarily closed from July 6th through July 10th due to critical electrical work.

During this closure, the Court will remain fully operational on a virtual basis. You may continue to submit court filings and contact staff through the methods outlined below.

 Filing Instructions

  • Attorneys and E-Filers: The Court is actively accepting electronic submissions. Submit your documents through the eFileTexas official portal.
  • Electronic Records: State and local agencies may also submit electronic records through the Texas Courts Records Submission Portal.
  • Pro Se Filers (Self-Represented): If you do not use electronic filing, you must submit your physical paperwork by mail. Please send your documents to the following mailing address:

The Clerk’s Office remains accessible to answer questions, check case statuses, or assist with filing issues:

  • Phone Support: Call the Clerk's Office directly at (512) 463-1551.
  • Hours: Virtual staff are available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
