Kent Chambers graduated from Baylor University in May 1987 and Baylor Law School in November 1988. He took the bar exam in February of 1989, and became a licensed attorney in May of 1989 at the age of 23. Although he began his legal career in Beaumont, he and his family have lived in Montgomery County since 2007. Over 35 years, Kent developed a state-wide civil litigation practice and became Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, trying civil cases in 65 courts in 32 Texas counties and handling appeals in nine of the fourteen courts of appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.

Kent and Marisa met at church while they were in high school and have been married since 1985. They have 4 daughters and 10 grandchildren all of whom live in Montgomery County. Kent is an ordained Southern Baptist deacon and has served in a variety of lay-leadership positions over the years. Kent and Marisa are currently members at First Baptist Conroe.

After winning the Republican Primary in March 2024, Justice Chambers was appointed to the bench by Governor Greg Abbott when Justice Hollis Horton announced his retirement effective June 30, 2024. Justice Chambers began serving on the court on July 1, 2024, filling the remainder of Justice Horton’s term, and beginning January 1, 2025, the six-year term to which he was elected.
