Justice Gino J. Rossini was elected to the Fifth District Court of Appeals on November 5, 2024. Justice Rossini came to the bench after serving in private practice since 1999, focused on handling civil appeals in Texas state and federal courts since 2009.
Justice Rossini is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law. In private practice, he handled a wide variety of civil appeals and original appellate matters in addition to an active trial-court practice including jury charges and dispositive legal issues. He is a member of the Texas Bar College and Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Justice Rossini has been selected to “Super Lawyers” 2017-2025. He currently is listed by “Best Lawyers in America” for Appellate Practice.
Justice Rossini currently serves as President-Elect of the Civil Liberties & Civil Rights Section of the State Bar of Texas, and as a Counsel Member of the Dallas Bar Association’s Appellate Section.
Justice Rossini received his Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, with honors, from Georgetown University. His studies focused on the United States and International Affairs. He received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law where he graduated with honors, Order of the Coif. In law school, he served as an Articles Editor on the Board of the Texas Law Review and a cast member and script writer with Assault and Flattery, the law school’s student musical theater group.
After receiving his J.D., Justice Rossini served as a law clerk to Hon. George P. Kazen, U.S. District Judge and, at the time, Chief Judge of the Southern District of Texas. He then began work in private practice in Dallas handling trial and appellate matters. He also served as a Lawyer on Loan prosecuting criminal cases with the Dallas District Attorney’s Office. In 2008, Justice Rossini served as Staff Attorney to Hon. John H. Cayce, Jr., formerly Chief Justice of the Fort Worth Court of Appeals. His practice has focused on appeals since then.
Justice Rossini has a life-long commitment to community service. He is an Eagle Scout. Currently he serves on the Academy Advisory Committee of Great Hearts Irving and the Board of The Pines Catholic Camp. He served for ten years on the Board of the Dallas Housing Crisis Center, including a term as Board President. Justice Rossini and his wife of 25 years are active in their church, where he has volunteered with middle-school and high-school ministries for the past eleven years. Before then, Justice Rossini and his wife served in their church marriage ministry for approximately ten years. They have five children ages 22 to 14.
