Justice Chad Bridges was elected to the 14th Court of Appeals on November 5th, 2024.  Justice Bridges previously served as judge of the 240th and the 458th District Courts.  While a trial court judge, Justice Bridges presided over Fort Bend County’s Felony Drug Treatment Court and the Fort Bend County’s Expedited Narcotics Docket.  Justice Bridges is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Justice Bridges has trained judges for Texas Council on Family Violence and was a member of Texas Council on Family Violence’s Public Policy Committee.  Justice Bridges has been published in the  Texas Center for the Judiciary’s “In Chambers” Journal. 

While Chief of the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office Family Violence Division, Justice Bridges was president of Fort Bend County’s Crime Victims Response Team and received the Carol Rees Award for outstanding service to crime victims.  During his tenure as a prosecutor, Justice Bridges was a Faculty Advisor for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association’s Advanced Trial Skills Course and a presenter for their Domestic Violence Prosecution Course. Justice Bridges is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center.

Justice Bridges received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
