Justice Brad Hart was elected to the 14th Court of Appeals in November 2024. Before joining the court, Justice Hart served as Chief of the General Felony Trial Division at the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office from 2019 to 2024. He began his legal career in 1997 as a trial prosecutor at the Harris County District Attorney's Office, where he tried over 100 jury cases before leaving in 2013.
In 2011, Justice Hart was honored as "Prosecutor of the Year" by the Texas Narcotics Officers’ Association. In January 2013, Governor Rick Perry appointed him as Judge of the 230th District Court, and he subsequently won a full term in 2014, serving until the end of 2018. During his tenure, he was recognized as "Judge of the Year" in 2018 by the Texas Gang Investigators’ Association.
Justice Hart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Political Science from Baylor University and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
