Justice Jenny Cron was elected to Place 2 of the Thirteenth Court of Appeals on November 5, 2024. Justice Cron is a native of South Texas, having lived most of her life in Corpus Christi, Texas. She has been licensed to practice law since 1996, after having graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. Prior to law school, Justice Cron attended the University of Texas at Austin where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English with Honors.

For two decades she served the public as an attorney for two County Attorney’s offices, Kleberg and Nueces. In Kleberg County, she acted in a prosecutorial capacity for almost two years before her move to Nueces County where she ultimately held the position of Chief of Litigation for several years. Justice Cron also practiced in the private sector as a senior litigator for five years with Porter, Rogers, Dahlman & Gordon, P.C. In this role, she primarily handled business and commercial matters for her clients. Justice Cron is licensed in both State and Federal Court and is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Over the years, Justice Cron handled multiple State appellate court matters for her clients.

Currently, Justice Cron serves as Secretary on the Board for the Corpus Christi Bar Association and is a member of the Coastal Bend Women Lawyers Association. She was recently elected as a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Justice Cron is also a member of the Appellate Law section of the State Bar of Texas. Justice Cron previously served on various civic boards as well as serving in leadership capacities for her church.

Cron is the mother of two children, Elle Marie Boyd and Thomas Boyd, whom she considers her greatest achievements.
