Seventh Court of Appeals

Justice Judy Parker was appointed Chief Justice of the Seventh Court of Appeals on January 15, 2026.
Chief Justice Parker’s distinguished judicial career spans over three decades of service to the Texas judiciary. Prior to joining the Court of Appeals in 2017, she served as Judge of Lubbock’s County Court at Law Number 3 from 2008 to 2017. Her judicial service began as Associate Judge of Lubbock County, a position she held from 1994 to 2008.
Chief Justice Parker began her legal career as an associate at Purdom Law Offices, P.C., in Lubbock, where she practiced general civil litigation for more than nine years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Angelo State University and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law.
Parker is actively engaged in both the legal profession and the broader community through her leadership and service. Her professional involvement includes serving as a founding member, Judicial Master, and a past President of the Texas Tech University School of Law American Inn of Court. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas Judicial Section Board of Directors, and a director of the Panhandle Family Law Association. She is a trustee for the CH Foundation and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lubbock.
