FSC General Counsel Lynn Garcia Invited to Speak Before House Committee on Science, Space & Technology

Our General Counsel has been invited by Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson to speak before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, & Technology at a hearing on forensic science and standards, beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET, 9:30 a.m. CT, September 10, 2019. The Committee will assess the progress in forensic science since the 2009 National Academy of Sciences report, and will examine the role of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the advancement of forensic science research and standards. As you all know, Texas has emerged as a leader in forensic oversight and reform, and we are honored Lynn has been invited to give remarks on how the Texas Forensic Science Commission has strengthened forensic science and what challenges remain for our state.
